TOP 10 PLACES TO VISIT IN COLORADO

This summer, I had the opportunity to visit Colorado for 10 days! There were so many gorgeous views and natural landmarks! On this post, I will share with you my TOP 10: places to stay, eat, and visit. I hope you enjoy!

1. PIKES PEAK COG RAILWAY - Manitou Springs, Colorado
If you're afraid of heights, this might not be the attraction for you. You ride a train on a cog railway to an elevation of over 14, 000 feet. Along the way there are gorgeous views that leave you breathless, literally. The air is thin and it is hard to breathe as you near the top of the mountain. It is so worth the journey, though! There is a gift shop and restrooms waiting at the top, where you must try the fresh homemade donuts!

2. AMY'S DONUTS - Colorado Springs, Colorado
If you love a variety of donuts, this is definitely the place to go! With hundreds of delicious flavors to choose from, you can't go wrong. These sweet treats are reasonably priced and taste amazing. This adorable donut shop is a must stop breakfast stop on your trip!

3. THE STANLEY HOTEL - Estes Park, colorado
You may know this hotel by Stephen King's The Shining or Steve Carrey's Dumb and Dumber movies. This hotel takes you back to vintage elegance with the ambiance. This hotel was located in Estes Park, Colorado.

4. GARDEN OF THE GODS - Colorado Springs, Colorado

If you are looking for stunning natural beauty, look no further than the Garden of the God's. These reddish brown rocks jutting out from the mountains make a beautiful scene. You can enjoy the drive through these formations, as well as many walking trails and

5. GARDEN OF THE GOD'S CLUB AND RESORT
If you are looking for the best view in town, right from your hotel room, this is the place! With a straight forward view of the Garden of the Gods National Park, it can't get any better. Along with the best bathroom a hotel can have, there is also a patio to enjoy your view from. The infinity edge pool provides the ultimate way to experience luxury accommodations. You will definitely enjoy your stay here, at Garden of the God's Club and Resort.

6. MOLLIE KATHLEEN GOLD MINE TOUR - Cripple Creek, Colorado
This unique mining experience takes you 1,000 feet underground through a mining shaft in a tiny elevator cage. At the bottom of the shaft, you are then taken through the retired mine where you learn all about the history, and different kinds of rock formations. It was very informative and really cool to experience!

7. ROYAL GORGE BRIDGE - Canyon City, Colorado This swing bridge called The Royal Gorge Bridge, hovers above a 1,000 feet  gorge, along with a river that you can raft. The attractions in this area are for the non - queasy people. You can ride a gondola or zip-line across the gorge. The walk across the bridge was scary enough for me!

8. GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK

These natural sand dunes are an amazing sight! The enormous mounds of sand, include many attractions. Such as, sand boarding,  and horseback riding. The drive is far out, but well worth it to see such an incredible place.

9. ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK -Estes Park, Colorado
Be prepared to drive along some steep drop-offs as you wind your way through the Rocky Mountain National Park. A trip to the Pioneer Woman's lodge & mercantile

To start off my Spring Break, my family went to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to visit the Pioneer Woman's lodge & mercantile. My Mom especially has watched her shows for a couple years and she has tried some of her recipes. We decided it would be fun to go tour where she films her cooking shows and stop at her mercantile for a little shopping and delicious food! When we first arrived to Pawhuska, we went to the mercantile. The line to eat was really long so we went upstairs to the bakery and grabbed some treats for a snack. They also have coffee and a candy bar! We each tried a different cupcake, and shared some knock you naked brownies. We also got some sticky buns to try for later. Then we went to the lodge. The lodge was located, basically in the middle of nowhere. You get your directions & free ticket at the mercantile, then drive out of the downtown area to their ranch. Fun fact: According to google, the Drummonds own over 400k acres and are the 23rd largest landowners in
