How to make: A gallery wall

If you're like me, you're always scouring Pinterest for your next project or recipe to make. I have seen gallery walls so many times and I really like the look of them. I love taking pictures, especially on the trips I go on. I have been trying to think of a way to display them in a way that would look professional and go with the rest of my room. While scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon a brand called Tiny Might Frames. They sell small frames that are perfect to print off your favorite square photos to display. They come in an 8"x 8" size, with a mat that makes the opening fit a 4"x 4" photo. I got the set of 9 silver brushed frames. They are exactly what I was looking for and it turned out amazing! Since I am not a professional picture hanger, I came up with my own little system of hanging them that made them all line up correctly. In this post, I will show you the steps I took to making my very own gallery wall!

1. ORDER THE FRAMES
If you click the title, it will take you right to where I got the brushed silver frames in a set of 9. You can purchase single frames, or a set of 3 as well.

2. PRINT YOUR PHOTOS
For me, I found the cheapest place to print photos was Walmart. I linked the page in the title. It was only $0.18 for each 4" x 4" photo, making it about $2 for all the photos. It was easy to upload the photos and pick them up in store, or you can have them shipped to your home.

3. ASSEMBLE YOUR FRAMES
Simply slide off the back panel of the frame, insert your picture against the mat, and replace the back of the frame.

4. GATHER EQUIPMENT
I purchased the command brand picture hanging set. They look like strips of velcro, but are actually plastic. They are really easy stick on tabs, and should remove easily if I wish to remove the frames from my wall. I am not the best picture hanger, so I made up my own system of hanging. To do what I did, you will need a tape measure, level, and a piece of paper.

5. PLAN
I figured that I wanted 1.5" between each frame on all sides. With that much space, the total span across the entire set would be 31.5". To make a template, I took a piece of regular paper, and measured 1.5" across. I then made a long strip that was a width of 1.5".

6. HANG YOUR FRAMES
To start, I found the center of the wall, and hung the middle, top frame first. I placed a level on top of the frame as I put it up to the wall, and hung it level. I then took the paper template I made and taped it to the right of the frame. I placed the level on top of the first frame, and the one I was trying to hang so it matched up with the original one. The paper made the frame exactly 1.5" away, and the level made them both straight. Simply repeat the steps until you have all of your frames hung.

For now, I chose to put all of my travel photos in my frames, featuring New York City,  Cozumel, and various tropical destinations. I love how it turned out and can't wait to switch out the pictures periodically for a different look. You can even take the mat out and have a full 8" x 8" photo. Be sure to check out the links I included to purchase frames from Tiny Mighty Frames. They will add the perfect personal touch to your home and come in multiple colors. There will be a giveaway on my Instagram soon so stay tuned!
